Prospective Planters

Who We're Looking For

The Metro Richmond Church Planting Network seeks planters with a passion for reaching their community with the Gospel, especially those who have never been to or have given up on church. We seek planters eager to serve alongside others in a spirit of collaboration. We seek planters open to coaching and shepherding. Finally, we seek planters willing to work as stewards of God’s varied grace with the one central goal of proclaiming and embodying Christ.

Our Commitment to Support

The Metro Richmond Church Planting Network of the James River Presbytery support new church plants at the rate of $20,000 over 3-4 years, depending on specific needs. Individual local churches will also provide additional financial support over a 3-5 year period. African-American and Hispanic led church plants have access to additional designated funds for their church plants. Our desire is to ease the financial burden of church planters as much as possible so they can focus on spreading the Gospel.

Our Commitment to Care

The Metro Richmond Church Planting Network takes the development and care of our church planters very seriously. To ensure that no church planter feels alone, each planter will receive coaching from a seasoned planter to work through the inevitable challenges they will face. In addition, all planters participate in a cohort of spiritual care as they spread the Gospel in their respective mission fields.
